Message to drop the gap down to 0.025" to clean up the misfiring.

I have never gone below 0.025" gap on any TT that I have worked with, but there are limits to how small of a gap you can use.

If the gap is too small, it will run very well on the top end, probably capable of supporting 750RWHP, but the problem you start running into is when the car idles.

The density of the air/fuel mixture at idle is quite low and a small spark will not be able to ignite the mixture. This is the only drawback to closing the gap.

Once of these days I might try gapping down to 0.015" just to see if the car will hold an idle. Just making a bit of a guess here, I would say that you will start developing a heavy misfire at idle with anything less than 0.020".

Rule of thumb: if it misfires, drop the gap down by 0.005" increments until it clears up the misfire on the top end. If it starts missing at idle, you will need an ignition amplifier to clear this up. The HKS TwinPower amp is a good solution.
